Before treatment image of a 1777 letter. The letter had been stored folded for decades and several campaigns of tape were present.

This 1777 letter was written during the Revolutionary War by a citizen and soldier in New York State. The letter required removal of the old brittle tape as well as careful humidification to unfold and flatten the letter.
